Lavender…used to infuse white vinegar for a lavender scented all-purpose cleaner.

Rosemary…to simmer a little for a nice smell and season my turkey meatballs. Yum!

Why do I settle?

As I was taking a shower this morning a thought came to me. I was shaving my legs with my husbands razor! I always do even though he asks me not to and always offers to buy me my own from Walgreens. I never tell him I need one because he already has one and it is more frugal to just borrow his. But in order to take care of myself the way I need to (as a Mom) I need to think more like they tell you to when an airplane crashes, “Take care of yourself first and then help others.” I don’t always take care of myself. I usually settle for the bread crust, ice cream scoop or the borrowed razor. I don’t always make myself a first priority in the morning. I usually wake up early to straighten the house and do dishes, and if the girls wake up before 7am then I’m taking care of them. But this morning when I took the time to actually shave my whole leg and not just the bottom half I realized the importance of taking care of myself. Feeling good and feeling happy has to start somewhere. I need to feel important enough to spend a few more bucks and get that razor that makes your legs longer, thinner, more toned and picture myself sitting on the beach on a tropical island sipping icy drinks!

I’m not going to settle. I will take care of myself because it will make me a better Mom and lover. I will allow myself to indulge in big bowls of ice cream and nice huge cheesy grilled cheese sandwhiches. We only live once and what if this is my only chance to indulge myself–take care of myself. Now I’m not saying I want to become selfish, but everyone needs some pampering just to make us feel like a woman. So, no more settling and more ice cream! Oh! and my goal from Mommy Lounge was to get excited which I have been trying more to do. It does make the ice cream taste better when you jump up and down and scream for it!
